My new ring
Hayden called me at work after school so excited to tell me that he had found a ring at school and asked his teacher if he could bring it home for him mom. She told him he could and so he was anxious for me to get home to try it on. When he gave it to me tonight he asked if I was going to wear it forever. He was so excited to see that "it fits!" He wants me to wear it to work tomorrow to show all my friends. One special ring from my special little man.
Homework
And so tonight our long journey begins.............down the road filled with homework in the evenings. Who would have thought this all would begin the 2nd month of preschool! The best part is the boys think it's great!

Can you see the concentration?
If only the years of homework to come would be this much fun............

Zoo
Parade
We enjoyed a beautiful day for a parade at the Grain Valley Fair Daze in September. Jackson especially liked Santa Clause in the bucket truck. Hayden later told me his favorite were "those girls doing the flips!" Hoping he was eyeing them for their acrobatic talent and not the lack of clothes they were wearing!

7 months old
My baby girl continues to grow and steal my heart more each day. She turned 7 months old this weekend. She is starting to like her baby food more, although still hates fruit would rather have veggies. She is sitting up pretty good and smiles all the time. She talks a lot (just like her Daddy) and has discovered she can make lots of fun noises with her tongue!

Artwork
These are two of my favorite pieces of art from this school year so far. Jack loves to draw people and comes home regularly with pictures of our entire family including Luke.

Hayden drew a picture of him and Mrs. Cornick. Although I should point out that in reality, Mrs. Cornick's head is very well proportioned to her body!

Good-bye Cast
Jerry's cast was cut off for the last time on Monday. Of course he wasn't as excited about it as I had expected following his appointment. While cutting off the cast the lady cut him so it wasn't the best experience however he is very glad to be out of that confinement. He had surgery yesterday to remove the two pins in his wrist (which have been referred to as "pencils" and "swords" by the boys) and began physical therapy today. We finally feel like he is on the road to recovery as he begins to rebuild his strength and regain mobility in his right wrist.
On the night Jerry got his cast off Hayden prayed "Thank you God for making Daddy better and getting his cast off and thank you that his other arm is not broken!" Through the eyes of a 5 year old!
