Last day of school

Where has this year gone???  I can't believe today is the last day of school.  I remember the first day like it was last week!  The boys were very excited and are ready for the break.  I was able to go eat lunch with them today.  They decided they wanted hotdogs and ice cream sundaes for dinner tonight to celebrate the start of summer.  This years goodbye's were more difficult because Jackson's AMAZING  teacher is moving to another school after 15 years here.  She is doing this for her son to be in his district and as a parent I understand but its hard.  We had talked numerous times about how she would be the kindergarten teacher for my girls.  I wish her the best of luck- Trailridge is one lucky school! I am  hopeful that Jackson will have Hayden's teacher next year so I hope to be seeing her again soon.  I started "Oh the Places you will go" books for each of the boys and reading what the teachers wrote made me cry.  Jerry assures me the boys will not like these books when they graduate and I don't care because they are special to me.  If they don't want them I will keep them!  My kids have had awesome teachers and I like to remember them.  And of course what is the last day of school withou pictures!

This was Mrs. Pruitt's teacher appreciation gift (a week late!) She loved it- thank you Pinterest for yet another awesome idea.  Making one for our house is on my summer list!

This is Jackson with his best buddies.  These boys are so fun to watch together.  And funny thing is I just found out last week that Keelan's (red shirt)  dad is Neil Smith (ex- Chief's player for those non sports fans)!  How crazy is that!!!

So goodbye to another school  year- bring on summer!!!

Green belt

Tonight Jackson was awarded his green belt in karate.  I am so proud of him.  He is really enjoying karate and I like it that he is learning self defense.

Happy Mother's Day

I enjoyed a day of relaxing and snuggling with my little people today.  I feel honored that  God chose me to be their Mom.  There is no greater blessing in life.  So often I feel I am messing up this whole mothering thing really bad.  Although I am soon reminded of God's grace that He extends to each of each.  This includes me.  Even on those days I am not a good Mom.  With every hug, every kiss, and every sweet word from my kids I am again reminded I am doing something right.  With His help, I will continue to strive to be the mother He has called me to be, extending grace to my kids as He does to me each and every day.

Baseball is here

The boys had their first game on Saturday marking the start of baseball season.  I love this time of the year.  I love watching the boys play baseball.  They both love the sport and are naturals.  Jackson hit a double and Hayden hit a triple all the way to the fence.  I was one proud Mom!

Princess

These princess jammies is are being worn by the 4th Sims cousin.  I love that our kids can pass down clothes like this.  It is crazy to think that Rylee wore these considering she will be 5 in September!

Easter weekend

I am trying to do some serious catch up on my blogging (yes Easter was a month ago!)

We spend Friday and Saturday in Abilene with my family and came home late Sat night so we could teach Sunday school on Easter.  The kids had so much fun.  They played outside all day Friday and Saturday.  The weather was perfect.  There was lots of Easter eggs, trampoline fun, basketball, and even more laughs.

Someone ate as many eggs as she colored

Hours were spent jumping

We got to meet the newest addition to Grandpa & Grandma's house

We even got to watch Weston play a soccer game where I saw a good friend from high school and was able to catch up with her.  It was so great seeing Meagan and her sweet family.  Kate loved her girls

And of course the traditional egg hunt at Grandpa & Grandma's

We all commented that this was one of the most relaxing trips to Abilene we have had in a long time.  I want more trips like this one!

Brothers

"Because I have a brother, I will always have a friend"
I love this saying and I feel it is true.  I love watching the friendship develop between Hayden and Jackson.  I love that they have each other to go through life with.  Now getting a good picture of them together is a little challenging.
