Jack's First Day of Pre-School

Jackson looked so grown up on his first day of preschool. He was very excited to finally be able to take his Chief's backpack. His morning started out with monkey bread for breakfast ( our new first day of school tradition!) He was so excited for school, he hardly ate- not like Jackson at all! He was such a little man walking up to the doors and no tears were shed (except for Mom)

Bubba sure does miss his little brother when he's at school.

Hayden's 5th Birthday

For Hayden's birthday dinner, he chose strawberry pancakes.

He was especially excited about his new Missouri Tigers hat just like Dad's.

Mom worked really hard on the cake- definately room for improvement, but he was thrilled! (little hands could not stay away!)

The pinata was definately the hit of the party. For a kid that lives to play baseball, it doesn't get better than this!

And this.......................

Jackson/ Mommy Day

Jackson and I had a great time shopping for school supplies on our Mommy and Jackson day. He was especially excited about his new Chiefs backpack. It was the first item he picked up and then wore it the rest of the time around Walmart. He also took his money from his piggy bank and was able to buy a toy with it. Fortunately, Bubba made his decision rather easy- Jack headed straight for the motorcycles like Hayden, in a different color of course! For dinner, he was able to pick anywhere he wanted to go eat and chose his all time favorite McDonalds!

Summer Fun

Summer reminds me of several things. Some of my favorites are swimming........

Icecream.......

And watermelon!

All of which we all enjoyed lots of this summer!

Jack's Flipflops

Jack has become obsessed with his flip flops this year. (I love hearing him say "flip flops") He insisted on wearing them everywhere. At one point, he would even wear them to bed! He soon realized this was not comfortable and so he would take them to bed and sleep with them. One day I walked in to find he had arranged his flip flops with Dad's!

Silly boy!

The Minds of Children

We were out running errands and stopped to get drinks. We ran into the store and left our drinks in the car. When we came out Hayden exclaimed "Mom, I had drank all my pop and God gave me more!"

The other night we were saying our prayers at bedtime and conversation turned towards Grandma Sims in heaven. Jack's big concern was whether or not there will be Halloween in heaven!

Hayden/ Mommy Day

Hayden and I got to enjoy a wonderful day together getting school supplies and school shoes. We had so much fun just the two of us. As we drove home, he said "Thanks Mom for our special day and thank you for letting me use a knife on our special day!" (I usually take the knives from them, but today he was able to cut his cinnamon roll by himself- it's the small things!)

He also took his money from his piggy bank and was able to pick out anything he wanted. After numerous trips up and down every toy aisle, he decided on this green motorcycle.

Our morning started at Panera Bread where he ordered a huge cinnamon roll with cream cheese icing and ate the whole thing!

Motivation

I have been really struggling with going to work lately, because I want to be home with my kids. After spending an evening with them, I am reminded that they ARE the reason I work. They are my motivation to do the best I can and at this time, that means I am working. God has a plan and I feel this is where He wants me now.

Although I sure do miss these smiles like crazy when I am working!

Blessings

I have been reminded again how blessed I am to have such a wonderful husband and three beautiful healthy kids. I hope you all know how much I love you.

Jerry, you have such a caring and giving heart. I love to see you get excited about helping people. Thank you for being such a great Dad and husband.

Hayden, you are so nurturing and tender hearted. You are such a good big brother and turning into quite the little man. You make me so proud when I see you demonstrating what you've been taught.

Jackson, you can always make me laugh. You have this adorable smile and are always making people laugh. You can make even the most serious of situations funny.

Katelyn, you bring a smile to my face. You are such a happy baby girl with the cutest face! You are so laid back and a good shopper!

Pizza Night

Pizza has become a Friday night tradition and our house and this week we had homemade pizza and a great helper.

Of course, along with helping comes the taste tasting as well!

He made this all by himself with just a little guidance and was very proud of his finished product. Just as he thought I wasn't looking...........

I caught little hands reaching in for one last bite!

Of course, a big part of him helping is him "testing" all the ingredients as he goes!
