3 years old

Katelyn turns 3 today.  What an amazing 3 years it has been.  You have brought us so many smiles, laughter and tears in your 3 short years here.  We can't imagine life without you.  You are such an amazing little girl with a BIG personality!  You keep your brothers in line and they are constantly reminding you "You aren't the queen Kate!" (you often act as if you are!!!)  You are such a wonderful, caring big sister.  You are always helping take care of Peyton, or "my baby" as you refer to her!

We have been through so many ups and downs with your heart condition and through it all it has taught us to trust in God with everything, even in those valleys of life.  Happy birthday Kater Potater!  I pray God will continue to guide you through life.  I can't wait to watch you as you grow in the coming years!

Field trip

I went with Jackson's class to Kalidescope today.  I was quickly reminded I hadn't ridden a bus in over 15 years and it just wasn't the same.  I survived with only a headache so not bad.  We had a great time.  The kids had over an hour to explore and be creative.  I loved it here!  So many colors and fun things to do.  The kids had a great time and came home with a bag full of projects!

Making puzzles was a highlight

Jackson, Nic, Kyan and James- these four are great buddies!

Goodbye......for now

Today was a sad day.  We said goodbye to Kate's two therapists.  Theresa is Kate's speech therapist.  She was Hayden's speech therapist too.  We never dreamed 4 yrs ago when we said goodbye to her then that we would later be calling her to work with Kate too.  She is wonderful and has worked wonders with both of my kids.  Kate turns 3 on Sunday so she will no longer qualify for First steps and will start preschool at the early childhood center (gasp!) I am not dealing well with that at all!

We also said goodbye to Trish.  I don't know what Trish's title is but she is wonderful.  Kate LOVES her.  Which what 2 year old wouldn't love someone who brings in large bags of toys and an Ipad to play with?  Trish was also Hayden's therapist and when Kate qualified for services we asked for Trish again.  We enjoyed dinner with Trish tonight as a farewell visit.  I swear I have a picture of Kate and Trish but can't find it for the life of me.

So for now we will say goodbye.  Although if Peyton needs any therapy these are the two we will be calling first!

Wrestling

Today we took a trip to Ottawa to watch Zach wrestling at the state tournament.  Despite a disappointing end for Zach, we had a great time.  And I now have two boys that want to wrestle!

Projects

I have been in total craft mode lately.  Lots of this

LOVE the glitter mod podge!  It is so.much.fun.  My next project involves these and I hope to have in done in the next couple weeks.  My super crafty friend Shannon has been helping me with the details of this project and I can't wait to see the finished project.

And finally I have been in girl birthday party mode.  Working on menu, favors, decorations, cake- so much pink to think about!  Luckily I can combine the girls' parties since their birthdays are only 4 weeks apart and make it into one giant girl party!

If only I didn't have to work full time these projects would get done so much quicker!

On the move

It's official- she is now crawling!  My kids have never been early to move so I didn't expect any less from Miss Peyton.  She finally decided she was tired of waiting for everyone to take her where she wants to go- she will just go there herself!  She is our first kid to actually crawl regular and not army crawl on her tummy!  She looks so cute moving around!  Of course the kids weren't prepared for this and now I am constantly reminding them to pick up their stuff if they don't want Peyton in it!

She is still getting lots of love and sometimes it makes her mad when she is on the move!

Valentine's parties

Today was a crazy day of school Valentine's parties.  I am the head room mom in Jack's class and got a call this morning from head room mom in Hayden's class asking me to take over for her because she had a sick kid.  To make matters worse, the parties were at the same time!  So I pulled double duty between the two classes and with the help of the other parents both parties were a success!

Hayden's program

Hayden's 1st grade music program was today at school.  The program had a theme of friendship and was very cute.  The kids did a great job. And even though the pictures don't show it, I think Hayden had fun!

Super Bowl Champs

I have a very happy boy.  Hayden's team won the super bowl tonight.  He is super excited to wear his Giants jersey tomorrow to school.  I love that he has picked a team all his own.  He is a huge Giants fan and especially an Eli Manning fan.  He has lots of Giants gear including a jersey to loan his brother for the big game!

Family Night

We are enjoying another great family night complete with pizza, movie and Wii games. Ok, well actually now I am enjoying some mommy crafting and computer time since the girlies are asleep and the boys are all currently playing Wii.  I surprised them with a smores pizza for dessert and that earned me a "you're the best mom ever" comment from two sweet boys.  I love that!
The kids love to have a picnic in the livingroom for dinner

However, tonight they weren't prepared for this

This little blue eyed girl is now on the move and managed to get ahold of pizza on more than one occasion as the older kids watched the movie

Tonight was the first movie night that Peyton enjoyed her own snack too!
