Camera Fun

So as we continue to shop for cameras, I had a friend offer to let me use her camera for a weekend.  We had so much fun trying out the Sony DSLR.

Now I am even more excited to get my new camera!  Although indoor lighting is tough no matter how good of a camera you have!

No easy task

It is getting more difficult to get a picture of these kids together.  And this was only 3 out of 4!

Bathtime

Luke was way overdue for a bath.  He stunk like no other.  So we took advantage of the nice weather Friday evening and gave him a bath. This is the easy way.  No cleaning hair out of the bathtub for a week.  No water splashes all over the bathroom to clean up.  And the kids think it's pretty fun!

Much better!

Sister time

Starting about 4 years ago my sisters started coming to KC twice a year to go to a huge consignment sale they have here.  We spend the whole day shopping just the three of us.  It is SO MUCH FUN! No kids. No husbands. It's perfect for a day.  In the spring the consignment sale fell the same day I went into the hospital to have Peyton so needless to say I didn't get to participate.

This year was no exception.  We had a blast.  We spent 4 hours at the consignment sale and a combined $640 (yeah they love us there!) We ate lunch, shopped more and even hit a new store this year.  I took them to Charming Charlies.  They hadn't been before.  And just as I expected they loved it.  We could have bought one of everything between the 3 of us but we controlled ourselves (well Sarah and I did, won't say anything about Annie!)

Sarah may or may not have been shopping for herself in the juniors section!

Thanks girls for a great day.  Can't wait to do it again next season!

123 days

Only 123 more shopping days until Christmas!  Can you believe it?!  I am already starting to get my list together and this year I am going to be organized.  No more "forgotten" gifts this year- you know the ones you buy in advance and put away in the secret spot and then forget you have them!  (Hopefully this isn't just me!)

So in order to keep me organized, I have made this very fun organizer found here.  And to start the season of goodwill early- I made one for a good friend.  I hope she loves it as much as I do!

Happy shopping!

Seven years old- Aug 3rd

Ok so over the next week or so I am going to be catching up on all my blogging.  I am so mad- I was doing great until my camera blew craps! Anyway- so keep in mind several of these entries are almost a month old!  FYI- a new camera is in the works.  Big debate on what camera to get and so we are waiting until we have done all our research and pick just the one we want.  In the meantime, I will try not to complain about my 1980's retro camera (ok so maybe it's not that old but sure seems like it!)

It is hard to believe that Hayden has went from this

To a compassionate, handsome 7 year old.

Where did the time go?  Happy birthday bubba!  We love you so much.  You make us such proud parents whether it's watching you play baseball, watching you help out your brother or sisters, hearing from your teachers what a great example you are in class, or listening to you tell bible stories and pray for your friends and family.  I am so excited to see how God uses you and your talents over the years.  I am so thankful that God chose us to be your parents.

Our weekend

Lots of smiles

Happy mail (my new coupon organizer and organizer notebook- how cute are these!!) There aren't many things that make me more happy than organizing tools and fun bright colored fabric.

Bubbles, bubbles and more bubbles

Lots of pricing clothes for the consignment sale- all 286 items!

Big scare for this Momma

The boys were playing baseball Sunday evening when we heard a loud scream.  Hayden had accidently hit Jack in the face with the bat.  After 6 long hours in the ER, we were sent home.  He had no facial fractures, just really swollen, bruised and sore.  He is a very lucky boy.  I'm pretty his special angel Grandma was watching over him again because this could have been so much worse.

Five months

These not-so-good pics were tough to get.  My camera decided to die on Hayden's birthday and since then I have had to either use my cell phone (now that's quality!) or the old school digital camera I resurrected from the kids' toys.  Great part about it is it incredibly slow and if you move at all it's blurry.  So....since I have a very wiggly baby pics are tough to get.  And if it's not the camera it's the company!

Seriously! Why are you balancing a plate on her head???!!!!

First day of school

Both boys started school last week.  They both looked so grown up walking into the school together.  Hayden has done a great job of taking care of Jack on the bus and in school.  Very proud of both my boys.

Pretty sure I am going to have to take their picture on this bench every year at the school. And I am sure in the next year or two they will start to really fight me!

Jack got to choose whatever he wanted for snack after school on the first day and he requested BIG cookies- and so I delivered!

Kindergarten

My 2nd baby started kindergarten today.  I thought it would be easier the second time around.  But it wasn't.  I still cried.  He did great though.

In typical Jack character

His sweet teacher emailed us pictures halfway through the day

I am so excited for him.  I can't wait to see how he grows in his first year of school.

Catch up

I have SO much to blog about and pics to post!  Problem is..........camera broke on Hayden's birthday (typical!!) So I have pics on there I haven't been able to get off.  So then in the meantime, I have been using my camera phone and have a lot of pics of there but also can't get them off the phone.  I even bought the special cord and still can't get them to download.

So when I get all this technology figured out I will have LOTS of posting!!!!  In the meantime, I will just keep reading everyone else's blogs and coming up with my inspiration and project ideas!!
